A big thank you for 2016

Dear Frens,

God has been truly wonderful for the year of 2016.

Together with like minded friends supporting Project Kyrie's initiatives to help the poor, we have accomplished much this year.

In the last quarter of 2016, Jesus have worked fast and furious.

For the poor children in Myanmar He has supplied through our wonderful friends one year supply of milo for 306 children. A cup every day!

4 kindergartens run by the Salesian sisters have also been blessed fully with educational toys and much needed school equipment and Jesus has taken care of the children down to their pens, face cloths, t-shirts and tooth brushes!

To close the year, we have also just confirmed another donation ( Special Thanks to Ai Ling & Friends) that will allow us in total to provide food rations for every month in 2017 for the very poor in India :

  • 160 HIV/AIDs Children and Adults
  • 50 Old and Aged Destitute ( who will receive food rations once every 2 months in 2017)

We thank all donors from the bottom of our hearts for sharing so generously with the poor. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful year ahead that is filled with God's love for 2017.

May God fill your homes and hearts with joy and May He bless you abundantly for your love shown to the poor.

All Glory to God \o/\o/\o/

Our gift of love to children of Myanmar this Christmas!

Update! 17/Nov/2016

We have achieved our target of SGD$6350 to buy milo for a year!

Thank you to all donors who responded to our appeal to provide 306 children from four kindergartens in Myanmar with one year supply of milo for 2017.

Together, we have made everyday of 2017, a better day for these children. It makes my heart smile to know that these children are not hungry and they have the strength to study and play at school because we shared our blessings.

We also completely achieved our target of SGD$6112 and more to buy all the needed educational toys and playground equipment.

I can't thank everyone enough for chipping in. It's a wonderful Christmas gift from us in Singapore to the kids and Salesian sisters in Myanmar.

Special thanks to Shidah, Susan Lee, Christina Tan, Susanna Kang, Yvonne Teo,Winnie Teo, Honey Ng, Pauline Goh, Jennifer Tan, Suzanne Khor, Charissa Lim, Alice Tan, Helena Lee and some of our anonymous angels.

Dear Frens,

Christmas is here again.

It's a season of plenty, a time of feasting and excesses for many of us.

It's also a time for thanksgiving as we take stock of the year and
thank God for all his blessings.

As we prepare for Christmas, in our season of plenty, let's also remember
those who are hungry and have little.

Christmas is about God's love for us and we mustn't forget to share this
love with others.

For this
Christmas, let's band together to feed children who are hungry and provide these children with a proper education.

Our gift to the children from Myanmar this Christmas :

1. Furnish 4 Salesian
kindergartens
in Myanmar with much
needed teaching aids and playground equipment for kids to learn and
grow.

The kids are from poor villages and parents may be farmers , drivers
or jobless due to poor health or fighting to cope after being
displaced due to various calamities.

 Items Needed:
1. Rubber foam mats - 300pcs - SGD $350
2. KG Kit - 10 box kits - SGD $699
3. Tower rings - SGD $210
4. Toys & plastic objects - SGD $210
5. Shapes and Colours - SGD $70
6. Learning about animals - SGD $53
7. Climb & Slide rPlay house - 4 units - SGD $2772
8.Learning about fruits - SGD $350
9. Iron Bars - 4 units - SGD $1398
Total - SGD $6112

2. Nutritional Support
- To support the children's education they also need good nutrition .

To supplement the children's meager diet at home and to sustain them
through school, Sisters have sought our help to provide Milo for the
kids.

The hours that they spend in school, the kids will have nothing to eat. Young children cannot spend hours without food. Kids too I believe can't study when they are hungry.

A cup of Milo is all the kids hope to get at school. We would like to provide them
with this cup of Milo every day for a year.

2 months ago, our donors provided some milo and the kids were over the moon

Milo Costs for 4 Kindergartens :

1. Hlaing tha Yar - 31 children,
2. Pyin Oo Lwin - 25 children,
3. Chanthagon - 25 children and
4. Anisakan - 225 children.

Total 306 children

One week 25 kids consume about 3 packs. One pack is about 4000kyats.
For the whole year the total amount needed for the milo is 5,875,200
kyats . Total for a year SGD $6350 for 306 children to have a cup a day.

This is Project Kyrie's Christmas project. Whatever you can share with the kids will go a long way for their future and their health.

We need to meet a timeline of 10th November, so we can pass our gift of love
to the Salesian Sister who will be passing through Singapore on the 14th of
November.

As usual pls whatsapp me at 96956267 if you are interested to contribute so we can consolidate the funds to buy these items and give these children who have so little a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
& God Bless!

Celebrating Christmas - Food Rations for HIV affected adults and children in India

Update 16 Nov 2016 :

We wish to thank all kind donors for making it possible for us to support an extra 80 poverty stricken people suffering from HIV/Aids in Draksharam, India for 15 months.

We have just arranged for $7,800 to be sent safely to Canossian Sisters in India to purchase and distribute the rations on our behalf.

As shared previously in the last post, we were able to add another 80 bags of precious food for the poor for Oct to Dec 2016.

Many people have come forward to share their blessings and now I am happy to update that we managed to continue the monthly food rations and provide the HIV poor in Draksharam with food for the whole of 2017.

For October 2016 , cost per bag of ration was Rs 170

From November 2016 onwards we have added protein powder as the HIV/AIDS patients have found strength in proteins to combat their illness. This food package has been amended and will cost RS 308.

Oil 1kg - Rs 68
Groundnut 1/2 kg - Rs 58
Green Gram 1/2 kg - Rs 34
Ragi powder 1/2 kg - Rs 18
Jaggery 1/2 kg - Rs 30
Protein powder - Rs 100
Total Rs308

Frens, who would still like to contribute food rations for our sick and suffering brothers and sisters, we are still looking to provide another 80 bags of food rations to the HIV/Aids centre in Veeraghattam run by the Canossians.

Per Bag of rations for Veeraghattam is Rs 400. They are given a little more because they come from further away.

Rs 400 is approx $8.30
80 bags x $8.30 =$664 a month
1 year support of food rations we will need $7,964

God Bless,

Mill

Dear Frens,

I sit here just barely 2 hours after lunch, taking out a cheese bun costing $1.20 and filling it up with 2 extra slices of cheddar cheese and lathering it with extra marmalade to accompany it with a cuppa tea. What luxury and abundance!

I can't help but feel so blessed and at the same time my heart pains when I turn my thoughts to adults and kids in Draksharama, India, who are not only suffering from HIV//Aids but are also hungry without having enough nourishment to fight this illness.

The Canossian sisters, who are on the ground fighting the brave battle to feed and minister the poor with HIV/AIDS, consoling them. when distributing food rations, they see the joy in the eyes of the sufferers when they receive monthly food rations and the disappointment of those when there is not enough to distribute.

We just sent up SGD $2150  to buy 260 food packages for distribution at Jeevan Jyothi Canossa Health Centre. It is a message of hope and mercy of Jesus from us for the 3 months leading to Christmas 2016.

We have assisted to cover their shortfall of 80 food packages in October , 80 in November and provide extra 100 food packages for the sick and hungry in December 2016.

Food package provided to the HIV/AIDS patients consist of :

Dhall 1kg - Rs.120/-

Ground nut 1kg - Rs.100/-

Oil 1kg - Rs. 85/-

Jaggery 1kg - Rs. 60/-

Ragi powder - Rs. 35/-

Total cost = Rs.400/-

The HIV/AIDS Patients gather once a month at Draksharama and Veeraghattam.

At each of these centres there are about 250 and 150 HIV/AIDS sufferers that gather respectively for their medication, counseling and if there is support food rations.
If anyone feels called to support this on-going project to cover this short fall for 2017 and support these Canossian centres with food packages of Rs400 for HIV/Aids sufferers, pls contact me.

Each package will go a long way to comfort and prolong the life of a HIV/AIDS sufferer. Many of which are innocent children who contracted this illness from their parents.

The HIV/Aids sufferers amongst the poor in India are the modern lepers in our world today.

This is the jubilee year of mercy. We thank Jesus for giving us the opportunity to reach our brothers and sisters who have so little and we thank our donors for making this gesture of mercy in Jesus name possible!

God Bless,
Mill

Building the Kingdom of God! \o/\o/\o/

Matt 9:37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.

Dear Frens,

We would like to thank Albert and Joseph for helping Jesus put more workers to work the plentiful harvest.

With the many things that are happening in our world, it is rare that there are still many selfless people who will sacrifice their lives to help the many people who are in need. it is also more urgent now then ever to share and show the love of God to those who may not have known or felt him in their lives.

Mayette and Therry are 2 such courageous women who wants to follow Jesus into the battle field and give their lives to others for the Glory of God.

We wish to thank Albert and Joseph for their sponsorship of $6,615.39 for the 1st year of Mayette's and Therry's formation with the Salesians Sisters who run the Don Bosco Schools for the needy in Cambodia, Myanmar, Philipines and India.

May God bless them abundantly for always sharing their blessings with others.

For those interested to be part of this area of God's work, we have another 5 aspirants, 1 from Cambodia and 4 from Myanmar who require sponsors for their formation. Their formation will be conducted in Philippines, Canlubang Laguna.

If anyone feels called to support these girls from poor backgrounds and sponsor their 1st year of formation and assist in Kingdom building of our loving Father, pls come forward and do let me know.

To be a Catholic nun, they will need to go through:

2 yr of being an aspirant
1-2 yrs of postulancy
2 yrs in the novitiate
Then she will be able to take her first vows

God Bless Everyone and have a good rest of the week!
