Sharing our blessings for Christmas 2013!

Dear Frens,

I hope this note finds you all well.

We are blessed again to partner ICPE Philipines to make Christmas brighter for the very poor in Tagaytay and Montalban.

In 2011, Project Kyrie provided 423 food hampers for the needy there. The residents of Montalban are very poor and money is hard to come by for them and the children.

As food prices have become very expensive, I feel it will be very meaningful for us to provide these food hampers to cheer the families and bring them hope as they usher in Christmas and the New Year.

We want to let them know that although they are poor, we have not forgotten them. And although, we are far away, we would like to share a little of our blessings with them.

The food hampers are $20 each. Provisions will be bought and slowly be packed by end October and distributed during the Christmas season.

I invite everyone to give generously. We target to raise enough funds for 300 food hampers but if God Wills, we will work harder and distribute more :)

Apart from providing these food hampers, there will be 2 kid's parties being organised. One for about 100 kids who live at the dump site and the other for about 80 kids who live in the poor rural areas. Each party cost about $300.

So frens, let us come together and make this happen!

eyes bright, hampers arrive, smiles breakout,
joyful hearts, heavenwards, faces look, tears in their hearts

warm tummies, happy smiles, good conversation,
Blessings and God entwined in our hearts

Do sms or email me, if you wish to join me and contribute to giving these food hampers to the poor this Christmas!

God Bless,
Mill

Partnering Claresmissionary to bring joy to needy students in Sabah

Dear Frens,

Thank you for responding to our facebook request for prizes for the needy kids living in the San Damiano hostel in Sabah.

We managed to pack a total 365 gifts. 285 gifts are prizes for games and educational accolades. 80 brand new water bottles are a gift for each child who lives with the Franciscan sisters.

These children are mainly children of poor farmers. They have to stay away from their families and live with the sisters or they would not be able to attend school for they live far away in rural areas.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this effort to bring a day of joy and laughter to the children. Special thanks to Agnes, Mandy, Rebecca, Henry, Joanne, Jerry, Mr Kong.

Kyrie Meals Fund will also be sponsoring part of the KFC meals which the kids dream of eating and some ice cream to make their day more joyful.

If you would like to join us on our facebook to recycle your excesses and give away your extras for a good cause ,
Pls go to : https://www.facebook.com/projectkyrie

We will continue to communicate to you what the needy require and alert you of help needed so we can share our blessings with those who have less than us.

Stay Blessed Everyone!

Helping Myanmar

Dear Frens,

I have been in the Catholic school system all my life and the religious Sisters have been a great blessing in my life.

Whether we , convent girls, were then believers or not, the presence of Sisters hovering over us, taking care of us, just having their presence in our lives whilst growing up have made a definite difference in introducing God and love.

Myanmar is poor in many ways and the people there especially the children and youths will benefit so much as we did, to have Sisters ministering to them and devoting their lives to them in ways big and small.

Project Kyrie have presented to the Canossian Sisters $23,700 yesterday for the formation and living expenses of 2 Myanmar novices to be in Singapore training to be nuns for the next 2 years. After the 2 years, they will return to Myanmar to serve the community there.

This has been a wonderful privilege for us to share and participate as 2 women offer their lives to bring Glory of God to a country where Christ is not widely known.

We wish to thank Joseph, Maria, Esther, Susanna, Susan, Francesca for making this possible.

May we also pray that the novices Maria Ja Awn and Antonia Mya Mya Lone be the face of Christ to many, as they answer the call of our Father to lay their lives for the poor.

God Bless,
Mill

Sharing what we have with Poland!

Dear Frens,

I just got back from my pilgrimage vacation in Europe.

It was great fun and everything was perfect. We had a smooth one month trip exploring four countries, namely Poland, UK, Jerusalem and Lourdes.

Anyone who wants any tips, just give me a call. We managed to squeeze in a little mission work along our journey. A small tea party for under privileged kids. Thank you Alex Teng for providing the goodies. The kids had a great time!

Economy is also getting expensive and to save petrol, the Canossian sisters in Krakow cycle to school when they can. We needed to trade in their 15 year old bicycle for a new reliable and safe one. Many thanks to Peter Twang for donating this bicycle. I am sure it will last for another 10 years at least.

It's amazing how we, friends of Project Kyrie always manage to step in and step up to all the impromptu needs needed by the poor and those who serve the poor.

Recently, I heard this and it is really true that first we have to open our hearts to receive God's love then love for others will flow through you. So everyone, have a happy weekend and keep receiving the overflowing love that God have for each of us.

God Bless,
Mill

Friends of project Kyrie brings joy to children in Batam!

Dear frens,

Last weekend on 9th and 10th of March 2013, We hoped onto the Wavemaster at harbourfront and zipped across to Batam to share our blessings with children in Batam.

There is no better time then Lent to reach out and remember how blessed we are. Although Batam is only an hour away but for many, it's worlds apart from the luxury we have in our home, Singapore.

For 2 days, we had lunch with children, we played games & lucky dip, gave out chocolates and biscuits, taught hygiene and tooth brushing lessons and God even blessed us with a magician to thrill the kids to no end :)

Although, we only spent 2 days there, we hope that we were able to make small life changing differences to the lives of the children and volunteers alike.

We carried over 100 cartons of food and gifts, clothes and TV and all this would not be possible without kindness of friends of Project Kyrie, who joined us to make this mission possible!

Special thanks to Pat & Sandra, Catherine, Amy, Dao Min and Praba, Yann, Silvia, Rebecca, Randall, Richard, Solomon, Edwin & Michelle, Richard & Jenny, Agnes & Stephanie, Debbie & friends, Geeti, Anne, Emily & Benjamin, Joseph, Henry, Mary Liang & friends, Francesca, Mark Thong & friends, Annie, Sim Yong, Joy, Sammy, Vandy, Daniel, Unilver and last but not least Peter for doing all the logistics on the ground.

May God bless you all for your generosity and bless your family and love ones with the same abundance you have shown to the poor.

Happy Easter!

God Bless,
Mill
