Project Kyrie partners Gloria Patri & Toa Payoh RC to bring Christmas cheer to the elderly and the less privileged \o/\o/\o/

Dear Frens,

Christmas is again round the corner and there is no better time to share our blessings and surround the elderly and children with their families, with Christmas cheer.

Most of us are so blessed. We look forward during this Christmas season to turkeys, Christmas feasts,
get-togethers at restaurants, holidays, Christmas gifts of your heart's desire or just being happy knowing you have provided for your children and seeing them joyful and happy.

This Sunday, we got together and threw a small party for people in our community who treasure these small gatherings because this little effort we put out there is their party, is their get-together, is their time at a restaurant, is the fun for themselves and their children... and most of all, the little effort we put out is  an affirmation that they live amongst people in the community who care for them and want them to be happy.

If you have time, do watch our video :)
If you feel you would like to participate and contribute for future similar events, do let me know. If you wish to do your own and need a consult, feel free to contact us. There is always a reason to celebrate and share what we have!

We do what we do because we can! - Teaching others how to fish..

Dear Frens,

Having run Project Kyrie since 2004, I have truly enjoyed myself meeting so many nice people out there who really care so much for people who are less privileged than themselves.

They will do many uncomfortable things like waiting in the sun, driving a pick up in the rain, hauling boxes of useful items for the needy, extend their patience beyond their normal limits, ask for a favor from a person they hardly know from their personal network to help people they have never met so that they may enjoy that one good meal or to give that moment of hope to another.

To all these everyday heros, I say a big thank you. There is nothing ordinary about you, for your heart has a beauty beyond words.

We, Project Kyrie believe in teaching people how to fish so those living in poverty may help themselves, their family and their friends for a lifetime. Education is a priority for us and this November 2012, we friends of Project Kyrie have come together yet again and given opportunities to youths from Don Bosco in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to further their educational experiences.

Because you have searched high and low for laptops in your homes, from friends and given generously for this project we have managed to set up a research corner cum a social enterprise internet cafe at Don Bosco Vocational School for the second year students to hone their business skills learnt at school. This will help them tremendously by developing their business acumen and also giving students an internet corner to learn from the world wide web.

We collected 9 laptops, 2 of which are brand new and generously sponsored by Declan Crowe and Arthur Shu.

Many thanks also to Peggy Zee, Henry Yee, Maureen Chan, Susanna Kang, Elizabeth Ho, Bob and Florence Komaran, Frederick Foo, Timothy Wong and to Andy Lim for putting in his efforts to repair the laptops for us.

Last but not least to the very generous and God-empowered couple Daniel and Helena Ong for carrying up the first 4 laptops to Cambodia and in assisting to buy 2 brand new HP laptop at a super price.

Thank you also to Dr John Lee who will assist to carry the balance of the laptops to Phnom Penh in December for us.

Without everybody's effort and plenty of running around, this project would not have been possible.

May our Good God, bless you all abundantly as you have blessed the poor that HE so loves!

God Bless,
Mill

"It is by the path of love, which is charity, that God draws near to man, and man to God. But where charity is not found, God cannot dwell. If, then, we possess charity, we possess God, for ‘God is Charity’."
